i’m a filipino illustrator and concept artist based in california. i usually go by the name christine, but you can also call me boonana!
boonanamilk, or boonana for short, is an online alias that i've been going by since 2020. i randomly came up with this name by combining one my favorite drinks, korean banana milk, with the word "boo" to change it up. because i couldn't use bananamilk on every social media platform i used, boonanamilk was my last option. i don't know why i picked these words specifically, but it's stuck with me ever since!boonana the ghost is both my oc and my artist persona. i knew i always wanted to make a character and story based on my online alias ever since i came up with it, but i didn't make her first design until 2023. after that first design was made, i abandoned this project because of my studies. i had the opportunity to develop this project further three years later, which finally allowed me to finish boonana's design and finalize her concept.her overall concept revolves around being a ghost that travels everywhere with a banana peel sitting on top of her head. despite constantly floating around, she always goes home with a souvenir from her travels.through this little ghost and her adventures, i reflect my goals as an artist through her in different ways. similar to how she enjoys traveling to new places, i enjoy exploring new art concepts. every illustration i make of boonana challenges me to get out of my comfort zone and illustrate things i avoid or have always wanted to do.
this carrd is dedicated towards this personal project of mine and my social media presence. here's my professional portfolio if you're interested <3

dni . . . you support nfts or the development and generation of ai art. i have and will continue to have negative opinions about these genres of art no matter how much you try to defend it. i find these as unethical practices that do not align with my values.
